12 Days Family Special Safari

Jolita Safari specializes in family safaris, and we know just how to make the whole family smile. The following are some crucial components: unique lodges with spacious enough rooms, flexible pricing policies, kid-safe lodges with unique characteristics. Itineraries with minimal deviations; at least two nights in each location; itineraries include activities other than wildlife viewing that let the kids spend some time outside the car; examples include rock climbing, jungle hikes, bicycling, beading with maasai, kayaking, and fire-making.

This 12 day Family Safari and Zanzibar explores the most famous parks in Tanzania: Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara. The itinerary is packed with activities to keep restless children, and their parents, happy.

Day 1: Arrival

Your driver/guide and our representative will meet you at Kilimanjaro International Airport to begin your Family Safari Zanzibar. We will transport you to the L’Oasis Resort, a modest yet quaint lodge situated at the base of Mount Meru. In the tropical garden, traditional circular huts are grouped together, and a small pool provide cool moments on hot days. We’ll send our safari manager to greet you and give you an overview of the trip. Three to four people can sleep comfortably in the family room where they will be staying. Dinner will be provided.

Day 2: Lake Manyara

After breakfast, the family safari begins, and we drive (about 2.5 to 3 hours) to Lake Manyara. Remarkably beautiful, the park is tucked away at the foot of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Numerous game creatures, including buffalo, elephants, giraffes, impalas, hippopotamuses, and others, are visible.

Spend the night at the charming, little Rift Valley Lodge, which is positioned on an escarpment and offers stunning views of Lake Manyara and the grazing animals that line the Rift Valley Escarpment. Every meal is served.

Day 3: Exploring Lake Manyara area

You may enjoy getting out of the car for a few physical activities and taking a walk with knowledgeable local guides to explore the Rift Valley Escarpment after spending the majority of the preceding days in the car. During your first walk through Mto wa Mbu Village, your guides will give you an introduction to the village’s social life, economics, education, and a host of other topics. Your guides can also take you to a sizable banana plantation, which is a fundamental aspect of the local economy, in place of the village tour, and explain to you the significance of agriculture. Afterwards, you can stroll to the Miwaleni River via a small forest home to dikdiks and monkeys. You can hike and climb over rocks and stones to reach the hidden Miwaleni Waterfall in the Rift Valley Escarpment by following the river. After lunch at your lodge and some relaxation, you can ride a bicycle through the plains towards Lake Manyara. Overnight at Rift Valley Lodge or Manyara Secret Garden. All meals included.

Day 4: Ngorongoro

Following breakfast, you enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and make your way down into the crater for an amazing wildlife drive inside the Ngorongoro Crater, which is sometimes referred to as one of the world’s marvels. You may even pack a picnic lunch for the drive. It is the biggest intact volcanic caldera in the world and serves as a natural haven for some of the densest animal populations in Africa. It’s one of the few locations where one may see the endangered black rhino in its native habitat. With its 2000-foot-high walls, the crater sees relatively few creatures migrating in and out, so you’re likely to witness lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, many birds, and other species. The “Big Five” can, with any luck, be seen in a single game drive. Overnight at Ngorongoro Rhino Lodge All meals included

Day 5: Ngorongoro-Serengeti

Following breakfast, you begin your 4-hour drive to the Serengeti National Park, where there is lots to see along the way! Zebras grazing, antelopes, giraffes, and occasionally buffalos hidden in the underbrush may all be seen along the way. When you arrive at a Maasai boma, or traditional village, a few Maasai warriors will greet you, give you a tour of the area, and give you an overview of their way of life. They’ll also demonstrate their well-known jumping dance for you, and if you’d like, you can join in! In addition, you can meet kids, take pictures, ask questions, and take a closer look inside of houses! You will have your picnic on a kopje, or outcropping of rock, in the Serengeti, and then drive through the park to enjoy an afternoon game drive. You may see wildebeest, lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, monkeys, baboons, hippos, rhinos, antelopes, and numerous birds and other species, depending on the season and herd migration. You will spend this and the next night in a cozy tent camp on the outskirts of the well-known Serengeti, with views of the never-ending savannah that is home to various animals and typical African acacia trees. After dinner, spend leisurely hours conversing with other guests and the friendly security personnel by the outdoor campfire.
