Day-by-Day Programme
This safari captures the essence of Rwanda: a visit to the mountain gorillas in Volcanoes National Park in northern Rwanda. Meeting these gentle giants in their natural habitat is a unique world experience everyone should have the privilege to experience.
The scenery here will simply bewitch you and before you know it the trail enters the national park where incredibly beautiful birds and jocular golden monkeys welcome you. At this point it dawns to you that you’re already set to undertake the most poignant wildlife experience in the world: gorilla tracking.
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali and transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Meet and greet at the Kigali International Airport by your safari driver-guide.
Depending on your arrival time, your driver-guide may propose you a visit of Kigali city which includes the Genocide Memorial centre at Gisozi.
Transfer to Kinigi at the foothills of the Volcanoes, the trip will take a maximum 2 hours to arrive in time for lunch.
Dinner and overnight at Virunga Lodge.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking & transfer to Kigali
After breakfast, you will depart for the headquarters of the Park, where your guide will give a full briefing of the necessary formalities. You will meet your ranger guides for a briefing about the greatest animal experience ever, after which you will be driven to the slopes of one of the Virunga volcanoes for your trek. After the trekking, visit of the Iby’Iwacu traditional village, a community-based tourism project where the local community displays the traditional ways of living. Lunch at Musanze (Ruhengeri) and transfer to Kigali.
On your way to Kigali, several stops will be made to admire the scenery. Rwanda is the country of the thousand hills!

Day 3: Kigali visit and Departure
Pick up at your hotel, depending on your departure time and if you missed the opportunity the first day, you will have your Kigali city trip including the Genocide Memorial centre at Gisozi.
Genocide Memorials: In Rwanda you will find all over the country Memorials to remember the genocide of 1994. The most important Genocide Memorials are those of Kigali (Gisozi) where the history of the genocide is explained. A visit to the genocide memorial is for most visitors an emotional event.
Parks & places: Genocide Memorial Centre – Gisozi & others.
Transfer to the Airport for your departure.
