Day 1
Tengeru Tree Planting
In the morning, you will be picked up by your guide from your hotel in Arusha (max 45km from the centre) to drive to Tengeru Village. Together with the Tengeru culture program, we will have an incredibly impactful and meaningful day through tree planting in the villages of Patandi and Akheri. By integrating traditional cultural practices into tree planting initiatives, you’re not only contributing to environmental conservation but also strengthening the community’s connection to their land and heritage. This holistic approach to sustainability is key to creating a lasting impact and inspiring future generations to care for the environment.
In the afternoon we will have our lunch in one of the local restaurants together with the team and after that walk to the Tengeru community market, you’ll meet groups of women carrying their bananas and other goods to the market. The tour will take 3.4km for the duration of 2hrs round trip. This tour will give you a good idea of how our people live, what we eat and how we interact.

Day 2
Mto wa Mbu Bicycle Tour and Makonde Tribe Activities
Today after breakfast from the hotel we will get our bicycles and explore the diverse culture and natural beauty of Tanzania. The bicycle tour takes you through the vibrant village of Mto wa Mbu, where you can interact with locals, visit markets, and learn about traditional farming practices.
You will have time to immerse yourself in the rich artistic heritage of the Makonde tribe. Known for their intricate wood carvings and sculptures, the Makonde people will teach you about their history, traditions, and craftsmanship. You can even try your hand at carving your own piece to take home as a souvenir. This combination of activities provides a well-rounded experience that allows you to connect with both the people and the environment of Tanzania in a meaningful way.

Day 3
Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, you will travel to Lake Manyara. Lake Manyara National Park was, according to Ernest Hemingway, one of the most beautiful parks he had seen in Africa. Although the park is not large, it is of unprecedented beauty. There are dense forests with tall trees, open plains with baobabs and rugged mountain peaks in the east. When a wild animal suddenly emerges from the vegetation, it gives a feeling of really being in the wilderness. After a safari you will visit a group of women who make lunch boxes using banana trees that many safari companies use when visiting Manyara National Park and reduce environmental pollution, this unique experience will not only give you a hands-on opportunity to learn about traditional craftsmanship, but also a chance to support local artisans and sustainable practices. These women are not only creating beautiful and functional lunch boxes but also helping to reduce waste and protect the environment. After that, you will drive to Manyara Sevret Lodge for the overnights on a full-board basis.

Day 4
Ngorongoro Crater and Maasai Support Project
You will spend the whole day exploring the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descending into the crater. The 19-kilometre wide, dry crater floor has approximately the same climatic conditions as the Serengeti National Park. In the crater lies Lake Magadi, a shallow soda lake. With approximately 30,000 animals, the crater is one of the most densely populated wildlife areas in the world. You will have a picnic lunch at the bottom of the crater You will also visit a real Masai Village participate in their dance and learn how to dance the famous Maasai jump later buy their local product which will support their families, we will also donate solar lights to the families that can use them during the night since there is no electricity in the area. Later drive back to Arusha for the overnight.

Day 5
Local Dance Session and Lake Duluti Walking
Today you will get a chance to interact with youth in Arusha by visiting a place where young people can find security, and stability, and collaborate with each other to achieve their goals. Engaging in creative musical activities with local youth from Arusha which can be a source of fulfilment and personal growth on multiple levels. You will also participate in dancing which is a form of expression to convey emotions, stories, or ideas. It is a universal language that transcends cultural and linguistic barriers, allowing people from different backgrounds to communicate and connect with each other.
Later noon drive to Lake Duluti which is a small crater lake situated in eastern Arusha. It takes approximately 20 minutes from Arusha City and 3.2km from Tengeru. This tour will give you an up-close view of Tengeru’s vegetation which will allow you to admire the abundant lakeside fauna and flora. You can also do a canoeing tour after the walk and witness the beauty of the lake up close and personal.

Day 6
Tengeru Local Food Class and Coffee Tour
Today’s tour will take you through the community coffee plantations of Tengeru, which are home to enormous farms. You will also visit a home where you can learn and participate in the entire process of making coffee. Upon completion of the tour, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a cup of delectable coffee that has been made by you. Enjoy and participate with artists who dance traditionally.
Learn the fine art of cooking with a local family and be introduced to a range of dishes that are the favourites of the local people. Learn how to prepare traditional dishes from scratch. Immerse yourself in the vibrant flavours and aromas of Tanzanian cuisine as you cook alongside locals and discover the secrets behind Tanzania’s delicious recipes. From spicy curries to savoury stews, this tour is a feast for the senses that will leave you with a deeper appreciation for the food culture of Tanzania. Later in the evening, we will drop you off at your hotel in Arusha.
