The Serengeti Migration is a stunning wildlife experience and a breathtaking show of nature. In an annual circle from Masai Mara, Kenya through Serengeti and the western park of Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area approximately 1,5 million wildebeests move around seeking better quality water and fresh grazing. Large numbers of zebras and smaller numbers of different species of gazelles and ever hungry predator cats are following the wildebeests . Although their moves are fairly well researched it is still hard to predict theur precise whereabouts. The annual pattern is depending on grass, rainfalls and pasture. Day 01: Arusha-Ngorongoro
Depart Arusha in the morning for your drive through the Maasai Steppe and along the Rift Valley to Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area. After arrival you descend to the Crater floor for a wonderful game drive . The Ngorongoro Crater is often described as one of the wonders of the world and has been declared an UNESCO World Heritage Site .It is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and a a natural sanctuary for some of Africa’s densest animal populations. It is one of the few places where the rare black rhino can be observed in their natural setting. As very few animals migrate in and out of the crater with its 2000 ft. high walls, you can expect to see lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, many birds and other species. With a bit of luck the ‘Big Five’ can be spotted during one game drive only.

Day 02: ‘Great Migration’ at Serengeti
From the edge of the Ngorongoro Crater you drive towards Serengeti, one of the most famous wildlife conservation areas in the world. First you reach for a short walk a the Naabi Hill Kopjes (huge granit bolders) where you can go for a short walk. After lunch you continue further into Central Serengeti for game drives all afternoon. The large wildebeest and zebra herds usually amble Northwards from Southern Serengeti, impressing sights of large herds with lots of newborns.
Overnight at Serengeti Sopa Lodge situated at an escarpment overlooking the plains of the south-western Serengeti. All meals included.
Day 03: ‘Great Migration’ at Serengeti
Often in late May or June the huge herds split up. While the major herds sweep round towards the Western Corridor collecting strength and getting prepared for the famous Grumeti River Crossing, some splinter herds can be seen driving straight northwards passing North Central Serengeti and Ikoma Region. Your game drives take you towards the Western Corridor to Mbalageti and Grumeti River.

Day 04/05: Central Serengeti / Ikoma Area
Spend two more days on game drives around Serengeti. Enjoy your picnic lunches in the bush, cautiously approach the hippo pool, and generally marvel at the rough, rugged and ever-expanding wilderness surrounding you. If you wish you can also join an interesting walking tour arranged by the camp. Accommodation is at a luxury tented camp located in a wildlife-rich area, where you can tuck into delicious bush food, warm yourself by the crackling campfire, and drift off to the sound of a lion roaring in the distance

Day 06 Serengeti -Arusha
Today you enjoy your last early morning game drive followed by a bush breakfast or enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your camp before your guide will take you to Kogatende Airstrip for your return to Arusha with arrival around noon. Breakfast included
NB – if you wish, airport transfers and overnights in Arusha can be arranged before your safari starts as well as return flights to Arusha to avoid long transfers back.
