3 Days Fly-in Selous Safari

A Selous safari takes you around the largest protected wildlife reserve, a UN World Heritage site. The topography of the park varies from rolling savannah woodland, grassland plain and rocky outcrops. Activities are game drives and a walking safari.

Day 1: Dar Es Salaam – Selous Game Reserve

Dar es Salaam to Selous Game Reserve flight. When you arrive, your guide will greet you and take you to your lodge, where you will meet the lodge management and arrange your specific itinerary. Begin your Selous safari after lunch.

Overnight at Sable Mountain Lodge. Lunchbox and dinner included.

Day 2:  Selous Safari

Full-day safari excursions through the Frederick Selous-named Selous Game Reserve. The biggest protected wildlife reserve in the world, the Selous Game Reserve is larger than Switzerland. A pristine, deserted territory recognized as a UN World Heritage Site. The Rufiji River and its tributaries have carved out rocky outcrops, grassy plains, and rolling savanna woods throughout the park. Walking safaris and wildlife drives are among the activities. Take an armed ranger on a foot exploration of the woods. Included is a boat ride to the Rujiji River, where you may see grazing animals like hippos and crocodiles. Overnight at Sable Mountain Lodge. All meals included.

Day 3:  Selous – Dar 

A game drive in the early morning in Selous Game Reserve. You return to Dar Es Salaam after a late breakfast, arriving in the late afternoon or early evening. Lunchbox and breakfast provided.
